use of.  For voice students start with exercises working on breathing, tone and other skills, and work
on songs agreed on for each person.

Susan's teaching philosophy is that music should be learned by everyone. It's up to the student how far they take the lessons but there is so much to learn about the way we learn things and it's good applied math.  There are other benefits as well.  People who learn music tend to be "smarter".  I put that in quotes because I think it's just because they've learned so much about the way they learn, they are able to take what they learn, and apply it to other things they want to learn. They are therefore able to learn more quickly and grasp concepts more easily. It is also because it's fun that keeps the music going.
